Developer Update: Artist Accounts and Smarter Radio Matching

Developer Update: Artist Accounts and Smarter Radio Matching

Radio Desk has received a major new update designed to improve both artist preparation and station targeting.

Approved artists can now use their own private accounts to add songs, update artist information, upload release materials, and complete the structured details needed for radio promotion.

Artists can enter information such as:

  • Primary and secondary formats
  • Vocal style
  • Energy and mood
  • Instrumentation
  • Song duration
  • Radio-edit availability
  • Seasonal category
  • Reference artists and similar sounds
  • Lyrics, credits, artwork, audio, and release information

Once the song is complete, it can be submitted to Kingdom Chorus staff for review.

Administrators and Operators remain responsible for reviewing each release, approving it, selecting stations, and creating the final submissions.

Better Song-to-Station Matching

The structured information entered by the artist can now be used during the station-selection process.

Radio Desk compares the song’s formats and characteristics with the preferences supplied by participating stations. Staff can then filter the station list to find potential matches based on factors such as:

  • Accepted radio formats
  • Preferred styles
  • Vocal presentation
  • Energy and mood
  • Reference artists
  • Song length
  • Radio-edit requirements
  • AI-use policies
  • Seasonal submission windows

The system also shows why a station matched and warns staff about possible conflicts.

For example, a modern worship song may match a station because it accepts Contemporary Worship, prefers male-led congregational music, references Phil Wickham, and accepts songs under four minutes.

This does not automate the submission decision. It gives Kingdom Chorus staff better information so each release can be reviewed and targeted intentionally.
